As Designer and Front End Developer for StockIQ, I was part of a three man team taking this idea from a sketch and feature list to deployable social media website.

We were accepted into 500 Startups Seed Accelerator Program, which was essentially a master class in digital marketing, customer acquisition, lean startup practices, and fundraising for early stage startups.

In the end..

We underestimated the complexity and cost associated with dealing with live stock data. We started off using a free API that updated only twice per week, contained many errors and did not account for stock splits, dividends, and other complexities that influence stock prices. Ultimately, the cost and complexity of stock data precluded us from building a reliable product.
